ABOUT THE ART
This print depictss the North Central area near the Ocala National Forest. Marjory Kinnan Rawlins lived near Cross Creek, Florida in the house pictured here during the time she was writing her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, "The Yearling". The Gate and The Barn were also part of her homestead.
About the Artist
Lee Evans is a self taught pen & ink artist of great skill. He has developed a 5-stroke technique which has won Evans many top honors at art exhibitions as well as at the North Florida State Fair. Many of his works have been donated for display in the Florida State Capitol.
Evans is serving life sentences in the Florida State Prison System where he has been allowed to persue his interest in the fine arts. In the mid-1980's he was offered the opportunity to teach his unique art techniques through correspondence courses. It is currently unknown if he has accepted this opportunity. |
